Having spent a life-time enthusiastically improving and renovating our own homes and those of others, and gaining a wide range of skills along the way, we decided that the time was right to use those skills to help others realise their own dreams. One of the very earliest and larger projects that we ever undertook was the convertion of a Ford Cortina in 1983/84 to a Morgan lookalike sports car. This took many hundreds of hours but resulted in a finished product that we were immensely proud of.
We also got married into 1984 and at that point set about learning how to build a home! We were spurred on to learn how to do things for ourselves after having experienced poor workmanship on a few occasions by invited trades people. And so, besides the obvious things like painting and decorating, we also undertook many plumbing projects, kitchen re-builds, bathroom re-builds, tiling walls and floors, hanging doors, fitting uPVC window frames, plastering and brickwork. The list goes on.
Our approach has always been that of care and attention to detail. Doing the job right is paramount. There's no point in rushing ridiculously through a job if you're not going to be satisfied with the result.
It's probably true to say that Lorraine, my wife, is often the brains of the outfit! She's a very hard working and dedicated nurse, and on many occasions it's been Lorraine's choice of wallpaper, or radiator style, or floor or wall tiles that I've fitted. Recognition where it's due! My contribution to the partnership has been that of the enthusiastic and keen handyman. I'd like to think that my finished product has always been of the highest order. Accordingly, I thought it probably worthwhile showning a picture of a lute which I recently built. Besides the heavier jobs such as decorating, tiling and plumbing etc., I am capable of working to exacting standards with very fine and delicate materials when necessary.
